Guys, do you still remember my post about Jogakbo? Of course you do! It was second to my last entry for 2012. Not so long ago right?!This post is actually related to that.

Last January 19, Thursday,  KCC  had given me the opportunity to attend their special class to learn how to make a Korean miniature fortune pouch to celebrate Seollal, The Korean New Year! The fortune pouch is a very commonly used motif in traditional Korean craft items, representing representing wealth, abundance, and fortune. The class started at 6pm but I arrived at 6:30 and everyone is almost on their half-way of the procedure but thanks to Hayan for helping me out.

Today, im gonna share to you how to make a Korean miniature fortune pouch. Sorry for the not so alluring photos. I just used my camera’s phone which is not so awesome for photos. haha

What you need:

1. Korean cloth

2. pins , needle and thread

3. Pattern

4. Pair of scissors

5. this…

6. and this…

How to do it:

1.Fold cloth in half so top sides are facing each other.

2.Measure 1cm from each end and fold outward.

3.Place a paper pattern on cloth and trace the pattern.

     4. Stitch the mark pattern using running stitch.
     5. Cut out pattern but 5mm away from traced line.
      6. Turn inside out.
      7. Pleat 3 timed and tack them together.
      8. Make 2 holes 1cm from the top.
9.Insert a string through the holes.
     10. Stuff with cotton and decorate with a single or a double knot.

Thanks again to Hayan and KCC :-)
